Chairman Shigenobu Nagamori’s Vision
Making Your Dreams a Reality
The world is changing rapidly. In this unpredictable age when the unexpected always happens, you will encounter people from diverse backgrounds who are not bound by conventional Japanese customs and ways of thinking. Consequently, people with practical skills who can play an active role in the world are in demand.
Despite this fact, the curricula at many Japanese universities are ill-equipped to provide students with the skills they need to succeed in the workplace after graduation. This has resulted in a lack of young professionals with practical, world-class skills. Because of this, I decided that I must build a university with my own hands, and joined the administration of this Educational Foundation in 2018. To further expand on this concept, the Kyoto Gakuen Junior and Senior High School were integrated with Nagamori Gakuen Educational Foundation in April 2021 as Kyoto University of Advanced Science Junior and Senior High School. We intend to continue this transformation expeditiously.
To the young students reading this: First and foremost, I want you to have dreams. Put those dreams into words. Take pride in your studies at KUAS, make your dreams a reality, and be an active participant in our diverse world. It is important to know what you want to do in the future and what you need to learn to achieve it.
Through studying at KUAS, you will be able to acquire the English language skills and specialized knowledge necessary for life, as well as the ability to apply these skills in a variety of fields as a member of the global community. What is important for students is how much they have grown during their four years of university. We will not allow your time here to have been a waste.
We will become a trailblazer in university reform by fostering talented professionals who can rise to the challenges of the world and who have dreams of, like me, starting their own businesses. In my experience in corporate management, I have set high goals that have taken those around me by surprise, and I have succeeded in each endeavor. While university reform is no simple task, I am determined to succeed. Take on the challenge and join us in making your dreams a reality.
