  • Dr. Yoshimi Igawa is an Associate Professor at the KUAS Business & Economics Department, where she conducts research and instruction on Management Organization Theory, including Knowledge Transfer, Absorptive Capacity Development, and Community of Practice. In particular, she focuses on organizational behavior in boundaryless organizations from the perspective of human resources development.

    Dr. Igawa obtained her MBA from Babson College (USA) in 2012 and obtained her Ph.D. in Economics from the Graduate School of Economics, Kyoto University in 2023. Her business and academic career include over 15 years in the private sector and more than 3 years in academia, most recently at Kyoto University. Her business expertise is in digital communication and her current research fields are in the automotive industry and governmental organizations. She actively works on regional rejuvenation problems occurring in local areas of Kyoto and Tokyo. With her academic and business experience in Europe and the United States, she also works in the healthcare field.

    Dr. Igawa loves cooking and visiting “stunning” places. She is currently into visiting World Heritage sites (such as Shirakawa-go and Shuri Castle) she has not yet visited with her family. She also values the time she spends playing sports with her daughter.
