Dr. Shunsuke Nagahama became an assistant professor of KUAS faculty of Engineering in 2021. Prior to that, he was an assistant researcher in the Department of Modern Mechanical Engineering of Waseda University from 2015 to 2017 and an assistant professor in their School of Creative Science and Engineering from 2017 to 2019. Before that, he served as a junior researcher (assistant professor) at the Waseda Research Institute for Science and Engineering from 2019 to 2021. He received his BE in 2011 and his ME in 2013 from Hokkaido University, and his Ph.D. of Mechanical Engineering from Waseda University in 2017.
Dr. Nagahama’s current research activities focus on biospired mechanisms in machine systems. In particular, he is researching the blood circulatory system, self-healing and self-maintenance systems and other specific functions in living things. He studied catalysts in the Institute of Catalysis of Hokkaido University, thus his ideas are based on surface and chemical science.
