KUAS Holds 8th Ryuto Festival
Sep 21, 2023
GeneralUnder a brilliant, clear blue sky on September 9th, 2023, the Ryutosai Festival Executive Committee, a KUAS student-led organization, orchestrated yet another great festival. Drawing together a diverse audience of students, staff, and community locals, the 8th Ryutosai Festival was a resounding success.
This year’s Ryuto Festival featured a variety of events, including student-run booths with many nostalgic festival games. There was also a quiz rally, a piñata-breaking event, and other interesting activities. Local government staff from the Ukyo Ward Office were also on site to provide guests with a health check-up booth.
The festival had many refreshments, with fried chicken, shaved ice, and other quintessential Japanese festival treats. Several popular Kyoto food trucks added their menus to the culinary mix.
Towards the end of the festival, a talk show by a famous voice actor and a big bingo tournament were held. Many locals alongside KUAS Japanese and international students participated.
This year, thanks to the efforts of the student committee members, the number of festival guests approached 800, or more than double that of 2022.
Thank you to everyone who joined the 8th Ryutosai Festival!
On October 28 and 29, a second festival called the “Ryubisai Festival” will be held at the KUAS Kameoka Campus. The event promises even more fun, and we look forward to your participation!
