GeneralEight student athletes from Kyoto University of Advanced Science (KUAS) brought home the coveted overall team championship title at the prestigious 51st All-Japan Student Powerlifting Championships, held on November 16th and 17th at Okayama University. I was able to win the men’s 66kg weight class championship and the best newcomer award. I also set a new personal record in the overall record as well. Athletes came from all over the country, and we were able to deepen exchanges with many athletes. I felt that we were able to achieve this result thanks to the support of many people. I will do my best to continue to improve my personal best in the future.

Student Athlete’s Comments
The club’s overall goal was to win the overall team championship at the All Japan Student Championships, and we were deeply moved to have achieved it. However, in the individual competition, I lost to a junior member of the same club and came in second place. On the one hand, I was happy, but on the other hand, I was sad. In the next tournament, I will do my best to win the team competition again and the individual competition as well. Thank you very much for your support and encouragement throughout this year.
