Shinya Kato, KUAS Engineering Masters Student Awarded TRENG Support Grant

EngineeringShinya Kato, KUAS Graduate School of Engineering Masters student was selected for the “TRENG Support” research grant. His research is on ‘Search for inhibiting elements on hydrogen embrittlement of BCC iron focusing on the role of vacancies’ and was awarded a research grant of 500,000 yen. TRENG Support is an initiative by Toray Engineering Co. Ltd to support research in engineering graduate schools.
This year, 37 applications were received for TRENG Support, and after screening for social impact, originality, and engineering value, six were selected, including Kato’s research.
A presentation ceremony was held at the University on 15 November, with a research presentation by Mr Kato, a question-and-answer session, and a hearing by Toray Engineering.
