Global Business and Economics Program(Department of Business Administration)

The Global Business and Economics Program (KUAS Biz) seeks to nurture self-established global business leaders who can not only survive but also succeed in the VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity) age. Under the guidance of outstanding instructors, the program aims to foster individuals who have a firm grasp of global politics, economics, and culture, respond flexibly in a variable business environment, as well as identify and attempt to solve management issues independently.

KUAS Biz emphasizes the study of both business management and economics from a global perspective, with all lectures conducted in English. The Global Business and Economics Program reflects the characteristics of both economics, which is characterized by research and education on behavioral economics―a more realistic field than the mainstream economics of the past―and business administration, which is exemplified by its research and education on entrepreneurship and innovation. The variety of course selection as well as diversity of staff ensure that our students become versatile in intercultural knowledge and language skill and train them to be well-versed in all fields relevant to the multifaceted business world.

Moreover, students will also participate in one of the internship programs specially provided for students of business and economics. Many companies, not only in Kyoto but also across Japan and abroad, are planning to accept interns. Students can use this as an opportunity to assess the array of fundamental business knowledge and strategies that they studied in class and get acclimated to applying it in actual workplace situations.
