  • Professor Yasuto Tsuruta earned his B.A. in Law at the University of Tokyo and then continued his studies at New York University, where he earned Master of Business Administration.
    Upon graduation from NYU, Professor Tsuruta was in charge of derivatives and new product development at Nomura Securities (Tokyo, New York, London) for almost 20 years. Following this, he worked as the Managing Director and Head of Equity Division at UBS Securities Japan as well as Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets at Credit Suisse Japan. He returned to The University of Tokyo, where he was the Director of Community Collaboration for nine years.

    In 2018, he joined Kyoto University of Advanced Science, where he is the Head of the President’s Office and a Specially-appointed Professor for Corporate Finance and Securities Market courses.
