KUAS Kizuna Research Symposium Held at Kyoto Uzumasa Campus

Jul 22, 2024

General

The KUAS Research Kizuna Symposium was held at Kyoto Uzumasa Campus on July 3, 2024.

The theme of this symposium was “Applying Machine Learning: A Super-introductory Session” and was led by Dr. Toshihiko Namba of the Institute for International Academic Research, with presentations by Dr. Yong Jie Wong of the Faculty of Bioenvironmental Sciences and Dr. D. Moritz Marutschke of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration. Each member introduced the application of machine learning in their own research and showed how it is effectively applied in various research fields. Following the lecture, the speakers engaged in a Q&A session with the audience to further deepen their understanding of machine learning and share their knowledge with other KUAS faculty, staff and students, which could potentially lead to future cross-disciplinary research.

The KUAS Kizuna Research Symposium is held to create opportunities for faculty to collaborate beyond the bounds of their research fields and produce research unique to KUAS. Each symposium is carried out under a different theme with lectures from faculty members from a broad range of fields. KUAS will continue to host the Kizuna Research Symposium to create attractive cross-disciplinary research.

The next symposium will be held on October 2, 2024.
