Student-Faculty Exchange Meeting (Fika) Held at Uzumasa Campus

On June 14, 2023, the KUAS Faculty of Engineering held a student-faculty exchange meeting at Advanced Hall of Uzumasa Campus. About 40 students and faculty members gathered at the venue and engaged in conversation over snacks and drinks.

KUAS started this student-faculty exchange in 2020 with the aim of deepening bonds between both parties, comparing it to “fika,” the Swedish custom of enjoying coffee and treats with friends. Due to the impact of COVID-19, the event was held online up until now. However, with the recent easing of restrictions, the students and faculty were able to talk face-to-face at this event for the first time.  

Given that there are many international students enrolled in the Faculty of Engineering, the exchange meeting played a role in the exchange not only between faculty and students but also between Japanese students and international students, and it ended with great success.

KUAS plans to host these exchange meetings in the future and encourages students to participate in this meaningful gathering.
