Students from Thailand Visit Uzumasa Campus
Apr 26, 2023
EngineeringOn April 20, 2023, Ms. Pailin Limwattanachai from Heart Work Counseling arranged a KUAS Uzumasa Campus visit for high school students from Thailand. Given that our visitors, consisting of five students accompanied by parents and staff of their schools, come from schools that mainly base their curriculum around mathematics, science, engineering and technology, they were very attentive and showed great interest in the facilities tour and speeches from KUAS students and professors.
The visit started with Dr. Osamu Tabata, Dean of Faculty of Engineering, welcoming the students with a brief introduction to KUAS and an explanation of its one-of-a-kind all-English engineering program.
From there, the students were shown around the Engineering Building where they observed Dr. Namazu’s Fundamental Mechanics Exercise class and visited Dr. Nisar (a professor specializing in Robotics, Mechanism Design, Haptics, and Flexible Manipulators) and Dr. Liang’s (a professor specializing in Pervasive Computing, Wearable Computing, Personal Informatics, Digital Health) laboratory. While visiting the lab, the students had opportunities to interact with undergraduate and graduate students currently enrolled at KUAS, four of whom are from Thailand. The campus visit ended with a short tour of the international student dormitories and lunch at the cafeteria.
We would like to thank the staff and young scholars for their visit and hope to see them on Uzumasa Campus in the future.
