On April 10, 2024, KUAS Uzumasa Campus received a visit from 15 middle school and high school students and staff members from Thailand, arranged by Ms. Pailin Limwattanachai from Heart Work Counseling.

The visit began with a presentation by a KUAS staff member, who introduced our institution, the international programs we offer and a general overview of our admission process and requirements.

Following the presentation, the students were shown to the Ubiquitous and Personal Computing Lab, where Dr. Zilu Liang and her graduate students introduced their intriguing research and conversed with the young, curious visitors. The researchers’ demonstrations were very hands-on, and the students were able to try out the wearable equipment created by the graduate students.

The staff and students left Dr. Liang’s laboratory in high spirits and were then given a tour of the Engineering Building, which houses cutting-edge engineering equipment, spacious classrooms and facilities, and plentiful multipurpose spaces, all available for KUAS students to use whenever they please.

The Engineering Building tour was followed by a visit to Dr. Sajid Nisar’s laboratory, which specializes in research on robotics, mechanism design, haptics and flexible manipulators. Two of Dr. Nisar’s students are from Thailand, and they were both proactive in interacting with the young scholars from their home country, speaking about the progress of their research and fielding multiple questions throughout their presentations. Similar to Dr. Liang’s lab, Dr. Nisar’s students also presented ready-to-use research equipment, which captivated the staff and students who gave it a try.

The campus visit concluded with lunch at the cafeteria and a commemorative gift exchange between the visitors and KUAS staff. We would like to express our most sincere gratitude to the students and staff who made this tour possible. We are very much looking forward to seeing you on campus again soon!
