12月7日（土）、京都太秦キャンパスで、1年生、２年生を中心にした、国籍、文化、学部、学年横断の「KUASバーベキュー」を開催しました。
参加した学生は、午前中からテーブルやテントの設営などイベント前の準備を行いました。
午後１時に行われた開会式では、諸連絡とともにこのイベントを盛り上げる学生スタッフを紹介しました。乾杯の後、いよいよバーベキューがスタート。学生と教職員は、楽しいひとときを過ごしました。
学生は協力して食材を準備したり、調理したりしました。この共同作業により、言語を超えたコミュニケーションが生まれ、心理的な距離が一気に縮まりました。
ムスリムの学生のためのハラールメニュー（イスラム教徒が安心して食べられる食材）を含め、バラエティに富んだメニューが用意され、すべての参加者はバーベキューを心から楽しんでいる様子でした。終始笑い声と音楽、そして焼きたての香ばしい香りに包まれ、学生たちにとって思い出に残る一日となりました。

「KUASバーベキュー」を開催しました / KUAS BBQ【国際センター】
On Saturday, December 7th, the Kyoto Uzumasa Campus held a sizzling hot KUAS BBQ. Students had the chance to make connections across nationalities, cultures, faculties, and academic years while enjoying delicious food.
Starting at 11:00 AM, student volunteers worked set up tables and tents in preparation for the event.
The opening ceremony was held at 1:00 p.m., and in addition to announcements, precautions, etc., the student staff members who would make the event a success were introduced. This was followed by a hearty toast and a moment of joyous celebration for all.
Students worked together to prepare and grill the food. This collaborative effort resulted in new friendships that transcended language barriers.
A variety of food options were on offer, including halal-friendly choices, ensuring that everyone could partake in the feast. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, music, and the aroma of freshly grilled food, making it a memorable day for all.

This was one of the best events so far, as I met many new people and had interactions with the Japanese students of KUAS. Even though my Japanese isn’t very strong we connected efficiently. I am looking forward to more events where International students can connect with Japanese students.
