10月25日（金）、本年９月に工学部及び工学研究科に入学した英語基準留学生を対象に、永守理事長による特別講義が実施され、139名の留学生が参加しました。永守理事長からは、心からの歓迎と「自分に自信を持って欲しい」「日本だけでなく、世界に羽ばたいて欲しい」と熱いメッセージが送られました。また自身の逆境を乗り越えながら夢を実現してきた経験をもとに、成功するには「努力と我慢」、「諦めずに粘り強く夢を追求する姿勢」の重要性を力強く語りかけました。
本学の特長である、英語による授業やグローバルな教育については、今後さらに強化、発展させていく意向を示され、将来、本学から「ノーベル賞受賞者を輩出する世界的リーダー育成の名門校に育て上げたい」という思いを共有されました。
質疑応答では、「起業した当時はどうやってメンバーを集めた？」「学生に向けたアドバイスをお願いします！」等、最後まで途切れることなく質問が続きました。
特別講義終了後のアンケートでは、「新しいビジョンと、今後の自分の使命が見えてきました」や「やる気を引き出してくれるような講演でした。問題に立ち向かう際には、できると信じて、必ずやり遂げます」など前向きな内容が多く寄せられました。

Special Lecture by Chairman Nagamori for First Year International Students
On Friday, October 25, a special lecture was held by Chairman Nagamori for international students who entered the Faculty of Engineering and Graduate School of Engineering in September. A total of 139 international students attended the lecture, where Chairman Nagamori extended a heartfelt welcome and encouraged them with the message, “Have confidence in yourself,” and “Aim not only for Japan but for the world.”
Drawing from his own experience of overcoming challenges to achieve his dreams, Chairman Nagamori passionately spoke to the students about the importance of “effort and perseverance” and the need to “pursue dreams relentlessly without giving up.”
The chairman began by welcoming international students to Japan, emphasizing the unique global education system at our school, KUAS, where courses are being offered in English and expanding further. His vision for KUAS is to become a prestigious institution that fosters world-class leaders, including Nobel Prize winners, by instilling values of hard work, perseverance, and self-confidence.
During the Q&A session, numerous hands were raised with questions such as, “How did you gather your team when you first started your business?” and “Could you offer some advice for students?” The questions continued uninterrupted until the very end of the event.
In the participant survey, students left positive comments, including “I was inspired by a new vision and my mission for my future” and “I felt motivated to believe in my own ability to face challenges.”
