1月29日(水)、学生センターと国際センターが共同で、2024年度として最後のConnect Caféを開催しました。今回のイベントには、期末試験を終えた71人の学生（日本人32人、留学生39人）が、京都太秦キャンパスでイベントに参加し、日本の伝統的なお正月行事である餅つきに挑戦しました。
今回は後援会に助成いただき、参加した学生全員が餅つきを体験することが出来ました。
イベント会場は大いに盛り上がり、笑顔とにぎやかな雰囲気に包まれました。
学生は力いっぱい餅米をつき、滑らかで伸びのある餅にする作業を楽しみました。次に、それを素早く丸める作業を体験し、最後はぜんざい、きな粉、海苔、砂糖、小豆、醤油などと共に沢山のお餅を食べました。
学生たちはお餅を食べながら、UNOやジェンガなどのボードゲームをし、新しい友達を作る時間を過ごしました。
本学では、2025年度以降もさまざまな学生交流イベントを企画し、学生生活をより楽しめる機会を提供します。

On Wednesday, January 29th, 71 students (32 Japanese, 39 International) gathered after the end of their final exams at Kyoto Uzumasa Campus for the last Connect Cafe international mixer event of the year. Participating students experienced pounding and making mochi – a traditional New Year’s activity in Japan.
5 rounds of mochi pounding were held with assistance from KUAS staff where students enjoyed using all their might to pound the glutinous rice into smooth and stretchy mochi. Afterwards the mochi was transferred to an area where students experienced quickly rounding the mochi into small round individual balls.
Students enjoyed the mochi in zenzai, a sweet red bean soup, along with various toppings such as roasted soybean powder, seaweed, sugar, red bean paste and soy sauce.
In their waiting time the students enjoyed interacting and making new friends by playing various board games such as UNO and Jenga.
We intend to hold more social events in the upcoming academic year, aiming to continue providing opportunities for students to enjoy their campus life and make new connections.
