2024年7月31日（水）、京都先端科学大学（以下、「本学」）は、デロイト トーマツ グループの女性活躍支援活動であるWomen in Techと企画したプログラム”Smart Factory Believers Program “（協賛：NSW株式会社）を、京都光華高等学校1年生のみなさんにご参加いただき、京都太秦キャンパスで実施いたしました。
このプログラムは、将来の人材育成を目的に中高生向けに提供しているSTEM（科学・技術・工学・数学）教育プログラムの一環で、プログラミングや数学的思考を楽しく学べる内容です。
具体的には、以下の2つのコンテンツを実施しました。
1. Smart Rover Kitという組み立て式のローバーの操作を通じてプログラミングの考え方を体験する実習
2.プログラミングを使った社会での課題解決方法をチームで議論するディスカッション
2つのコンテンツを終えて、京都光華高等学校の生徒のみなさんからは、「理系に苦手意識があったが楽しむことができた」、「ディスカッションが楽しかった」などの感想が寄せられました。
本学工学部では、世界で通用する技術者の育成を目指しています。本学は、今後もデロイト トーマツ グループと本プログラムを展開することで、日本の将来を担う技術者や研究者の育成に貢献してまいります。

“Smart Factory Believers Program” in collaboration with Kyoto Koka Senior High School
On Wednesday 31 July 2024, KUAS organized a program “Smart Factory Believers Program” (supported by NSW Corporation) with Women in Tech (a Deloitte Tohmatsu Group initiative to support women’s activities) at the Kyoto Uzumasa Campus with the participation of first-year students from Kyoto Koka Senior High School.
It is a kind of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education program for junior and senior high school students and provides a fun way to learn about programming and mathematical thinking.
The program consists of
1. experience the programming through the operation of the Smart Rover Kit, and
2. team discussion on how to use programming to solve social problems.
After completing the program, participants commented that they enjoyed the program and discussions.
Faculty of Engineering of KUAS aims to develop world-class engineers. This program with the Deloitte Tohmatsu Group will continue to contribute to the development of engineers and researchers who will lead the future of Japan.
