Chairman Nagamori Addresses First-Year Students on “Giving Shape to Your Dreams”
On Friday, May 25, 2024, Chairman Nagamori delivered a lecture to all 733 first-year students at the Kyoto Uzumasa campus as part of their future career development program. The theme of the lecture was “Giving Shape to Your Dreams: Finding the Strength to Take the First Step.”
During the Q&A session following the lecture, Chairman Nagamori enthusiastically answered a continuous stream of questions from the students in his characteristic pep-talk style. Some examples of questions asked by students included, “What should I do to improve my self-confidence?” and “What do you think is most important for a manager?”
The event was so successful that the Q&A ended before all the questions could be answered.
In the post-lecture survey, students made the following comments: “Since the Chairman‘s talk was based on his personal experience, it was not only fascinating but persuasive as well.” “I learned that the only way to build confidence is by taking action.”, “I learned the importance of persistence and never giving up,” “I was motivated to work harder at learning English,” and, “It made me decide to start my own business in the future.” There were many positive comments such as this that showed that the lecture provided a meaningful start to the career education program that will continue throughout the next four years for new students.
