2023年1月25日（米国時間）、本学の田畑修副学長・工学部長はThe Smart Factoryの米国拠点である「The Smart Factory @ Wichita」および同ファシリティを共同運営しているウィチタ州立大学（WSU）を訪問しました。
「The Smart Factory @ Wichita」とウィチタ州立大学（WSU）は人材育成・ビジネス双方での連携、STEM教育による社会貢献を推進しており、今回の田畑副学長・工学部長の訪問を機に、本学との人材交流やイベント共催を軸とした連携を進めていくことで合意しました。
京都先端科学大学とデロイト トーマツ コンサルティング合同会社 は2021年、産学連携によるものづくりDXの推進を目的に京都太秦キャンパス内に「The Smart Factory @Kyoto」を共同施設として開設しています。

Dean of Faculty of Engineering Dr. Osamu Tabata Pays a Visit to Wichita State University
On January 25, 2023, Dr. Osamu Tabata, Dean of Faculty of Engineering at KUAS, visited The Smart Factory @ Wichita, the US home of The Smart Factory, and Wichita State University (WSU), which co-operates the facility.
The Smart Factory @ Wichita and WSU promote collaboration in both human resource development and business, as well as social contribution through STEM education. On the occasion of Dr. Tabata’s visit, they agreed to proceed with collaboration with KUAS. The collaborations will be centered around the exchanging of human resources and co-hosting of events.
Kyoto University of Advanced Science and Deloitte Tohmatsu Consulting LLC jointly opened “Smart Factory @ Kyoto” at KUAS Uzumasa Campus in 2021 to promote manufacturing DX through industry-academia collaboration.
